Is it ADHD?

Everyone loses focus sometimes. This is different.

ADHD isn't just a childhood condition. When attention, impulsivity, or organization problems are persistent and get in the way at home, school, or work, an evaluation can tell you what's really going on.

This is not a diagnosis. Only a full evaluation can confirm ADHD.

Ask About Testing
How is ADHD diagnosed?
Through a comprehensive clinical assessment that can include interviews, a review of behavioral history, questionnaires, and standardized psychological testing of attention and executive functioning.
Can adults be tested for ADHD?
Yes. ADHD isn’t only a childhood condition, and we evaluate adults as well as children, teens, and college students.
How long does an evaluation take?
There is an intake meeting, a direct testing appointment that takes about two hours on average, and a feedback meeting to review your written report.
Can testing help with school or test accommodations?
Yes. Evaluations can support eligibility for school services and accommodations on tests like the SAT, ACT, AP exams, Virginia SOL, LSAT, and MCAT.
Should my child take their ADHD medication on test day?
Ask your prescribing physician. The psychologist will ask about medications during intake, and some people take their usual medication on testing day while others don’t.
What should we bring?
Recent report cards and school records, any 504 Plan or IEP, standardized test results, and previous evaluations. Bring a snack and a drink, and skip caffeine and nicotine on testing day.
What happens after a diagnosis?
Treatment often combines behavioral therapy and medication. Both are available here, so you don’t have to start over somewhere else.
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network practice, so we don't bill insurance companies directly. Our services are almost always reimbursable through out-of-network benefits, and we help you submit your claims. We don't participate in Medicare or Medicaid.
